Roberto Ventimiglia
Composer
Born in 1982, Roberto Ventimiglia studied composition with Paolo Rotili and Alberto Meoli, graduating with honors from the Ottorino Respighi Conservatory in Latina.
Afterwards, he studied with Alessandro Solbiati and Salvatore Sciarrino, always conducting a research focused on the contemporary language, though strongly related to the Western tradition and the pursuit of an intense melodic attitude: in his aesthetic view, the works of Philip Glass, Michael Nyman, Francesco Antonioni, Carlo Boccadoro and Georg Friedrich Haas are a great source of inspiration.
His musicology studies with Giorgio Sanguinetti, Agostino Ziino, Giorgio Nottoli, Gino Stefani and Giorgio Adamo – with whom he graduated in ethnomusicology from the Tor Vergata University in Rome – are also very important.
Ventimiglia’s music – for orchestra, chamber ensembles or solo instrument – has been hosted in several festivals and musical events as Atlante Sonoro-Freon Musica, Festival Pontino, Le Forme del Suono, Teatro dell’Arte-Milano Triennale, Casa del Jazz-Roma, Musica Futura-Ismez New York City Electroacoustic Music Festival, Nuova Consonanza.
